Rob's Story
I grew up on a dairy farm in country Victoria with my three sisters and our loving parents. Life on the farm taught me the importance of hard work, honesty, and resilience — values that have shaped everything I’ve done since.
I was lucky enough to pursue a career in AFL, playing 33 senior games for St Kilda Football Club, including three preliminary finals and two grand finals.
My time in elite sport gave me discipline, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm under pressure — lessons that still serve me today.
When injury brought that chapter to a close, I turned my focus to something I’d always been passionate about: cars. Over the years, I worked in wholesale, private sales, dealerships, fleets and auctions, getting a first hand look at how the industry really operates.
What I saw was frustrating — too many good people ending up with bad deals, unnecessary stress, and little support. Buying or selling a car is a major financial decision, but for many, it feels like a minefield.
That’s why I started Autra — to change the way Australians buy and sell cars.
My goal is simple: to give you back the power, knowledge, and confidence you deserve.
With inside experience and complete independence from the industry, I’ll guide you through every step to make sure you’re always getting a fair go.
At the end of the day, I want to make selling easy, buying fun, and ensure you get the outcome you deserve.
